Inspiration

Oud Paradisio unveils itself: a fragrance at once powerful, captivating, opulent, and audacious. Dominating with majesty is a dark, enveloping oud wood. At the top, the fresh, citrusy brightness of bergamot is enlivened by the juicy, succulent sweetness of frosted pineapple, while a subtle veil of incense and saffron whispers through the composition. The exquisite floral heart unfolds as a precious trio of roses, two essences and an absolute, imbuing the composition with elegance and depth. The warm base marries shadowy oud with cocoa, creating an arrangement rich in intensity and sumptuous voluptuousness. Sensuality blossoms among a woody warmth, nuanced with subtle restraint. Its assertive character is sculpted by the animalic accents revealed through the potent olfactory presence of oud essence. Complex and surprising, Oud Paradisio is a nocturnal perfume steeped in mystery. In fashion, leather claims its nobility without forsaking its innate animality, which imparts strength and commanding presence. Designers have challenged leather, shaping it into a second skin, Claude Montana in the 1980s with exaggerated shoulders crafted for fearless, audacious personalities. More recently, Rick Owens has celebrated this material with brilliance, transgressing its codes with boldness, even a hint of provocation. Animalistic by nature, leather embodies strength, power, and confidence.

Perfumer

I wanted to play with contrasted matters, connecting them together to create unity. I sculpted a perfume that melts boundaries between freshness and sensuality, light and depth. The idea was to reimagine oud, through a colorful and soft lens. A pineapple sorbet that glistens with juiciness reveals an unexpected transparency. At the heart, rose acts as my guiding thread, soft yet confident, connecting Oud Ice Cream to the soul of BDK Parfums. Wrapped around it, a textured vanilla adds smooth warmth, balancing the cool top with creamy indulgence. This perfume is a study of contrasts turned harmony, where every material is treated like a brushstroke in a living composition — spontaneous, elegant, deep. Jordi Fernandez

THE QUALITY OF INGREDIENTS
ORPUR LABEL GIVAUDAN

At BDK Parfums, every fragrance is born from a close collaboration between David Benedek's vision and the expertise of acclaimed perfumers. This collection was developed with Givaudan and perfumer Jordi Fernández, through a constant dialogue guided by a shared commitment: the absolute quality of raw materials, chosen for what they are and for what they bring to the composition.

Each ingredient is selected with care for its origin, the precision of its extraction, and the role it plays within the fragrance. This work is collective and meticulous — it brings together perfumers and producers in a precise balance, where nothing is superfluous and every material contributes to a single emotion. Particular attention is paid to the provenance of each ingredient, chosen for its singularity and sensory richness, as so many gestures that speak of a genuine and never merely decorative attention to craft.

At the heart of this collection, woods hold a central and defining place. Jordi Fernández makes them one of the pillars of his olfactory signature: "I chose woods because they embody texture and structure in perfumery, much as fabrics do in fashion. On a more personal level, I regard woods as a symbol of elegance — and they are very much a part of my signature."

  • VERT DE BERGAMOTE FROM ITALY ORPUR™ : To capture the brightest, greenest facet of fresh bergamot, Jordi Fernández employed an essence known as “Vert de Bergamote.” The essential oil is first cold-pressed, then subjected to molecular distillation, preserving its luminous, sparkling freshness.

  • TRIO OF ROSES : At the heart of Oud Paradisio, a trio of roses, two complementary essences and one absolute, creates depth and harmony. The Turkish rose essence lends texture, roundness, and sensuality, while the Bulgarian rose essence contributes verticality and projection through its metallic facet. The Turkish rose absolute adds honeyed and candied fruit nuances, completing the trio with richness and sophistication.

  • COCOA ABSOLUTE ORPUR™ : From the lush forests of Africa comes an extract evoking the nostalgic aroma of pure cocoa powder, enriched with a velvety, gourmand bitterness. Solvent extraction yields an absolute which, after molecular distillation, reveals a scent of creamy chocolate and powdered cocoa, heightened by subtle woody nuances.

  • OUD ESSENCE FROM THAILAND : This essence from Thailand is renowned for its complex, dark, and intense fragrance, a cornerstone of spiritual rituals and Middle Eastern perfumery for centuries. It offers a woody note with hazelnut facets, slightly earthy, with warm animalic nuances. Its richness is further enhanced by its resinous, smoky facets reminiscent of leather and patchouli.
