Inspiration

Stellar Silk unfolds around the milky, textured richness of a creamy, precious sandalwood. At the top, a spicy spark of ginger and cinnamon bark is delicately dusted with saffron. Then, the floral heart of iris unfolds, echoing the intimate caress of fabric against the skin, enveloped in vanilla, tonka bean, and the profound warmth of benzoin tears. In the base, sandalwood and musks carry and extend the trail with gentle intensity. Like a precious thread of silk, Stellar Silk lays a veil of sensuality across the skin. A fragrance of passion, it radiates as a luminous halo, balancing depth and lightness to create an enduring, timeless elegance. Around the silk, a universe of luxury emerges, defined by a noble material exploring with subtlety the porous boundaries between masculine and feminine wardrobes. The softness and delicacy of the fabric flirt with the sensuality of evening gowns, evoking Haute Couture silhouettes where creative freedom blurs boundaries, reminiscent of designs by Yves Saint Laurent or Valentino Garavani. In the airy, whispering rustle of muslin, an ode rises to the preciousness of a millennia-old material, noble and treasured.

I wanted to capture the invisible movement of silk, its fluidity, its luminosity. Stellar Silk is born from the desire to translate touch into scent, to make softness tangible. The heart of the composition is a milky musky texture, gently creamy, unfolding like silk gliding over skin. A sensual and warm halo of sandalwood blended with coconut, vanilla, benzoin and tonka bean pulls light into the fragrance. Delicate powdery orris weave a soft cocoon, echoing the intimacy of the fabric against the body. At BDK Parfums, every fragrance is born from a close collaboration between David Benedek's vision and the expertise of acclaimed perfumers. This collection was developed with Givaudan and perfumer Jordi Fernández, through a constant dialogue guided by a shared commitment: the absolute quality of raw materials, chosen for what they are and for what they bring to the composition.

Each ingredient is selected with care for its origin, the precision of its extraction, and the role it plays within the fragrance. This work is collective and meticulous — it brings together perfumers and producers in a precise balance, where nothing is superfluous and every material contributes to a single emotion. Particular attention is paid to the provenance of each ingredient, chosen for its singularity and sensory richness, as so many gestures that speak of a genuine and never merely decorative attention to craft.

At the heart of this collection, woods hold a central and defining place. Jordi Fernández makes them one of the pillars of his olfactory signature: "I chose woods because they embody texture and structure in perfumery, much as fabrics do in fashion. On a more personal level, I regard woods as a symbol of elegance — and they are very much a part of my signature."

SANDALWOOD ESSENCE SANTALUM ALBUM FROM AUSTRALIA ORPUR™ : Sandalwood essence is obtained through steam distillation and reveals a deep woody trail that is both powerful and creamy, with a soft, enveloping milky smoothness. Santalum album belongs to the same botanical variety and has the same olfactory qualities as Mysore sandalwood.
CINNAMON BARK ESSENCE FROM LAOS ORPUR™ : Sourced responsibly in Laos, this exceptional cinnamon bark offers a unique balance between spicy subtlety, softness, and warmth. The essence reveals woody inflections along with gentle, spicy facets that enhance its natural warmth.
TONKA BEAN ABSOLUTE FROM VENEZUELA ORPUR™ ROASTED TONKA BEAN ABSOLUTE FROM VENEZUELA ORPUR™ : Harvested for centuries by local Amazonian communities, the tonka bean is collected only once it has naturally fallen to the ground, ensuring its aroma is at its peak. For Stellar Silk, Jordi Fernández used both a tonka bean absolute with a powerful note of warm, sweet, honeyed tobacco and milky praline nuances, as well as a roasted tonka bean absolute with facets of dry cocoa, caramel, coffee, and hay.
ORRIS BUTTER FROM FRANCE ORPUR™ : Sourced from the preserved landscapes of Les Landes in France, Iris pallida — one of the noblest botanical species — embodies the ultimate elegance of perfumery. Its subtle nuances are hidden within its rhizome, from which, after molecular hydrodistillation, a butter is obtained, releasing floral notes of violet and powdery wood.
BENZOIN RESINOID FROM LAOS ORPUR™ : Sourced from the lush forests of Laos, benzoin exudes a soothing sweetness with enveloping accents. Between vanilla and caramel, its smooth note reveals powdery and milky nuances that reflect the full cultural richness of its origin.
MADAGASCAR VANILLA CO₂ EXTRACT ORPUR™ : This aromatic orchid from Madagascar continues to captivate with its elegance and sensuality. Thanks to supercritical CO₂ extraction, an extract is obtained that preserves its delicate aroma — more almond-like than solvent-extracted absolute — thus minimizing its tobacco and rum facets.
